December 2012

Our TAGY members had a wonderful Christmas party and "green" gift exchange.  See the many creative and beautiful items hand made by our TAGY group in the photo.

Each gift is exquisite and shows the wide variety of talent within our group. I am so happy to be a part of this creative and supportive group of women.

Jeanne has received the black fabric for making hanging background displays for our Book Challenge quilts.  She will bring the bolt of fabric to the January meeting and we will make the hanging drapes as our program. Linda will bring the book challenge quilts in her possession, as well as the quilt racks so we can hang them and determine the final size of our black drapes.  Everyone should bring their book challenge quilts if they have them at home.

Both the Book Challenge and the Under the Sea quilts will be displayed March 6-9, 2013, at Big Sky Quilt Retreat in Billings. It is held at the Shriner Auditorium.

This year's challenge theme is the Gossip quilt.  Four teams of six members were chosen back in October.  Lynn's photos were passed out to the number one person on each team for inspiration.  All number one's should now be finished with their interpretation of the photo and have passed their creation on to person number two. Remember, no-one is to see the quilts until they are revealed at the Yellowstone Quilt Fest, along with the original photo that inspired the number one quilts.

We selected "Seasons" as the theme for the gift exchange for next Christmas.

Marybeth told about the upcoming events at the Homesteader Museum, in Powell, for 2013 with the theme "key ingredients". There will be table setting displays and an apron fashion show.  Marybeth is asking us to make 12" x 12" wall quilts with a kitchen theme for sale as a fund raiser.  Contact Marybeth for further details, marybeth@wir.net

Everyone brought delicious food to share.
Wishing you all a wonderful holiday season, full of joy, good health and happiness.
