September 2013

At the September meeting we turned in our Gossip Challenge quilts.
The photo (left) shows Marybeth and Lili examining the Group D quilts. This is the first time any of us have seen them.
The photo below is an example of the Gossip Challenge.  Person number 1 received a photo, and interpreted the photo in a quilt.  Person 2 saw only the quilt made by person one, and so forth.

Jeanne did a wonderful job with Lynn Richardson's photo taken from an old cabin, through the window.  To see the quilts that follow through the gossip trail (think whisper game), you may go to the Yellowstone Quilt Fest (YQF) on September 12-14th.  All four groups of Gossip Challenge Quilts will be on display on the stage at the Cody Auditorium.  Group B is made up of WAV members (Women of Artistic Vision, Billings, MT).  The quilts are amazing.  Congrats to all who participated.

On Wednesday, September 18th, there will be a
Photo and quilt made from the photo.
western Fashion Show at the Cody Auditorium,
at 5:30 pm.  Linda Cleve is among the designers.
Also, many quilts, made by TAGY members, will  be for sale at the Boot Scooting Boogie in Cody on Thursday September 19th, from 5-7 pm.  Link

Last year's TAGY Book Challenge was returned to members present.  It has been traveling for the past year, and ended with a great showing at the Bank of the West in Powell last week, and Kathy H's quilt was featured in the Powell newspaper. Linda M's quilt will be in this weeks Powell Tribune along with info about YQF. Jeanne will keep the black drapes for use with the next challenge.

As part of Show and Tell, Jeanne brought in a copy of the NQA Quarterly Journal in which her Sew Batik winning quilt was shown.  Alice brought a unique wall hanging made from sewing items.

There was much discussion about our upcoming Quilt Show.  This will be a busy week.
