March 2019

There were about 23 members and guests present for the March meeting in spite of the sub-zero temperatures we've been having lately.
Jeanne K's Marketplace

Linda M brought the Marketplace quilts back from the 1st bank in Powell, and Lindsay agreed to take them to Billings for the Big Sky Quilt Show and Retreat.
Lindsay also took the quilt stands and black cloths and sheets, and all the older art quilts that we will use to fill the stage with our TAGY exhibit.  We packed her van full!

Lindsay, Marie, and Lili plan to hang the quilts on Wednesday, March 13th.  There will be a number of TAGY members taking classes on Saturday, March 16th, so we should have more help for the take-down process.  A big Thank You to our members for helping to make this exhibit possible.
Art with bleach by Patty

While taking the Marketplace quilts down in Powell, the bank branch manager expressed interest in having art quilts depicting the seasons hang in the bank.  Linda asked members if this is something they wanted to make, and we have the needed four responses, Jeanne K; Lili; Jan H; and Linda.  We will find out more information from the bank, and each of us will take a season to work on.
Article in SAQA Quarterly Journal

Jeanne passed out extra copies of Quilting Arts magazine that she received.  She also showed the article about our Heart Mountain quilts that was recently published in the SAQA Journal.  Thank you Lili for submitting the idea for the article, and Jeanne for working on this too .  Other Show and Tell items are shown in the pics.

Marie's dyed fabrics
Marie held a dyeing class in Cody last month and everyone enjoyed it and wants another class, so she is planning to have one next summer. More on this later.

The Program was given by Karling on covering our favorite books to preserve them.  Clear contact paper was used for this purpose.
