Country Art League’s Annual Community Art Show is welcoming fiber art:
The 59th Annual Community Art Show is a
judged show, for anyone who wants to enter. You do NOT have to be a member of
the Art League to participate. We have prize money and awards for both amateur
and professional categories thanks to community sponsors and donors. It’s
a really wonderful showcase for talent in our area. And, there is a textile
category that I personally would like to see more participation in.
You are all invited to participate! We encourage you
to enter an art quilt in our Fiber Arts Category. You may submit one entry, not
to exceed maximum size of 25”x25” (like your ‘challenges’ if I got that
right??). There is a $20 entry fee to participate. Your artwork may be listed
as Not For Sale, but we encourage you to have For Sale items in the show. We
LOVE to sell ART here, so when we do the Art League keeps 35% if you’re a
member, 45% if you are not. (Take that into consideration when pricing your work.)
It needs to be hangable from a nail or hook with a wire or an appropriate dowel
system.
Artwork must be delivered to the gallery by Wednesday,
May 15th at the latest. Show opens Wednesday, May 22nd
with a reception and award ceremony in the courtyard at the gallery. It is a
wonderful event and we encourage anyone and everyone to participate.
Entry forms will be available online at www.codycountryartleague.com
very soon or at the gallery.
Stop by anytime and feel free to give us a holler if
you have any questions. We are located in the same old, log building (the
original Buffalo Bill Museum!) as the Cody Chamber of Commerce, right by the
domes.
Hope to see you soon!
