Our Under the Sea quilts were a big hit at the County Fair, and are now on display at US Bank in Cody.
Jane and Lili judged the Big Horn County Fair needleworks department.
Marybeth sold tickets for our YQF raffle quilt "Spirit of the West" at the Fair for many long hours, with help from other guild members. The raffle quilt is now on display at Big Horn Quilts in Greybull. Julie has announced closing the quilt shop in September, but will continue to provide the on-line business. We will all miss our 2nd Saturday play sessions at her shop. Hopefully Julie will again become an active member of TAGY now that she will have more time.
By starting our own chapter of National Quilt Association (NQA) we are already receiving benefits such as reduced insurance for our upcoming Yellowstone Quilt Fest. And we have posted our raffle quilt on the NQA website. Thank you Kathy L for the suggestion and help setting up the Wyoming Chapter. Linda M was the NQA "spotlight" quilter of the month on their web site.
Patty M gave the program based on an article by Diane Savona in QA Magazine Aug/Sept 2012 issue 58, called Under the Surface Embellishment. Several members brought in flat objects such as washers, buttons, and stars and we stitched them under damask or muslin. Jeanne took photos, and plans to post some here. It was a lot of fun.
TAGY members Patty, Jane, and Linda M made a quilt for the Powell Branch Library's 100th anniversary. It was shown at the anniversary celebration and will be hung in the reading room.
