 ANNOUNCEMENTS

 Next meeting July 8th

 Yearly Challenge, "Signs," is due at July 8th meeting.  Please get your artist statement to Jan Wilbur at jancwn@tritel.net, by July 8th. She will type and print on a card to be hung with the quilt.  Google Artists Statements for an example. 

   Theme is SIGNS

   quilt must fit the challenge theme

   quilt must not exceed 100" (perimeter measurement)

   quilt can be any shape, square, circle, rectangle or just odd.(as long as it is 100" or less-perimeter )

   quilt must have a sleeve for hanging on the back. Not visible when the quilt is hung.

   quilt must be your original design

   For security, please attach a label to the back of your quilt with your name and phone number

 

Challenge quilts will be hung at First Bank in Powell in August and at the Cody Library in September.

 Lili will be doing the program in July which means we need a program for August.

Lili was awarded two ribbons at the Hyattville Quilt Show!  Congratulations!

Pam H. was awarded first place $125 in the Amateur Artists Fiber Arts category in the Cody Country Art League Show.  Congratulations!

 Marie Shirley-Jones brought the SAQA (Studio Art Quilt Associates) Travelling Trunk Show.  It was fun to see the work of artists from MT and ID.  No theme, just the size requirement.  It was not juried so all were accepted.  

 Rene Robinson, from Plaza Diane in Powell, presented a very informative program on the appreciation of art. 

 Challenge for next meeting is to finish your Signs Challenge quilt.  Bring it for show and tell.
