July 7, 2014

SUMMER IS HERE and people's travel plans and visiting company are taking over our quilting time (not to mention gardening and the Fair).  Even so, ten artists made it to the July TAGY meeting: Jeanne, Jane, Alice, Patty, Barbara, Jan, Kathy H, Linda, Pam, and Cyndy.

Jeanne now has all the Old Trail Town quilts and is ready to contact the managers at Old Trail Town about hanging them.  She still needs the descriptions and short "bios" from Marybeth, so if you haven't given MB your information, please do so Now.  If this isn't done right away, we will have to wait for next tourist season to hang the quilts there.  They will be at YQF in September.

Show and Tell included our dyed fabrics from last month's meeting, and the monthly challenge was "Shoes". Several members showed items being worked on, as well.

Jeanne provided a fun program on making fabric Beads.
This will be beneficial in making our Textile Art Challenge, which is due at the September meeting. Have you started yours?  Remember it should be 18" x 24" vertical (portrait), and should have at least two surface design techniques.  This will also hang at YQF.

If you missed the meeting but want to make fabric beads, here is a link to on-line instructions.

Our next meeting will be August 4th, and Kathy Hammond will present the Program.  See you then.
