November 2016

Flower-pounding card by Carol Kimble.
September TAGY program.
Ten members met on November 7th and discussed our calendar for 2017.  This is published at the right of the blog.

It was decided to have Monthly Learning Challenges as follows:
January - April: Architecture  (anything from a door-knob to buildings, etc)
May - August: Microscopic
September - December: My Back Yard
There are no restrictions on sizes.

The theme for our 2017 Art Quilt Challenge is: Wild West
Interpret "Wild" however you wish.
Size: 18" x 24", or 24" x 18" (either orientation).

We all enjoyed Show and Tell items, and discussed what to bring to Big Sky Quilt Retreat in Billings in March.  The bi-annual quilt show and retreat will be held at the Shriners' Auditorium on March 8-11.  We will hang our art quilts on their stage.  Marybeth said we can buy the black sheets that were used at the spring tea fundraiser in Powell.  They will make good back-ground sheets for hanging our art quilts at shows.

We plan to hang the quilts from the 2016 Challenge: "A Place in Someone's Heart", which are due at the March 6th TAGY meeting.  Remember to include a hanging sleeve and a label.  More information is coming on this.

The photo was sent in by Carol Kimble, the regional SAQA rep from Montana, who came to our September meeting.  She said she would love to come visit again and thinks we have a very special group.  I agree!
