September 2017

Thirteen members were present for the September  TAGY meeting.

This year's Christmas Party was discussed and it was decided to hold it at the January meeting so more people could attend.  The gift exchange is related to the Year of the Rooster. If you bring a wrapped gift, you received a wrapped gift.

Ginger was happy to say the Embroidered Double Wedding Ring quilt won 3rd place at the Yellowstone Quilt Fest, People's Choice.  She notified the family of the woman who made the quilt.  If you look closely at the photos you will see that the design is not made from fabric, but is all hand embroidered, and the quilt is hand quilted as well.

Jan H brought quilting books to give away, as well as fresh tomatoes from her garden.

Alice is working on a quilt calendar.

Linda M brought the latest issue of Quilting Arts magazine which has an article on the HERstory quilts.
Jeannette discussed the Brown Bag Challenge at Paintbrush Piecers' Quilt Guild where each artist selected an adjective, noun, and a verb from brown bags and made a quilt from those words.
Lili told us the "Place in Someone's Heart" quilts were well received in Meeteetse.  They were given to Ginger to hang at the Cody Library.

Pam H gave the program on Transparent Paint versus Dyes.  Below are several photos of the beautiful pieces she painted on linens and commercial fabrics.
A fun and informative meeting with very talented ladies!
