April 3, 2023

Fifteen artists attended the TAGY meeting at the Cody Library Grizzly Room on April 3, 2023:  Sylvie, Vanda, Barb M., Laura, Sue B., Donna, Lori R., Susie, Carol, Jan H., Jan W., Judy, Ben, Lili and Amanda.  These artists creativity never ceases to amaze us all!

Announcements:

Jan W. announced that we had enough money to sponsor a week of coffee/tea/hot cocoa in the Pardners Cafe.  Our TAGY name will be posted the week of September 11, 2023.  At this meeting she collected enough money to sponsor a second week (to be announced). A thank you note from Pardners Cafe is below.

Lori R. announced a quilting collage class by artist Leslie McNeil (marvelesartstudios.com)   It will be held April 28 and 29th.  Text Lori if you are interested in attending at 307-272-4822.  Check out Leslie's website! The flyer for the class is below.

Lili agreed to do the program in June.  She will talk about her trip to Japan.

Jan W. passed around a card to sign for Jeanette.

Show and Tell:

Susie shows an apron made from her father's shirt. We are enlisting
her to do a program on this!!  Such a great idea.

Carol shows placemats she made in class.  Pretty!

Jan W. embroidered a table runner for Easter.  Love the bunnies.

Vanda shows organizational ideas learned from her friend.  She used Rockler dividers.  It was an inspiration to go home and get organized!

Vanda also shows how to use a binder clip to "file" this Accuquilt die cut machine.

Barb M. show what she can do with thread clippings. Clever!

The Program:  Lili presented a program on Momigami, the Japanese art of paper making.  We kneaded the paper into usable cloth!  It was messy and fun!

Lili used magazine pages and tissue papers.

We massaged the paper with olive oil or lotion or coconut oil

Donna with gloves to prevent the colors on the paper from getting on her hands.

Lori massaging the paper.  I think she likes getting messy :)

Vanda is not bored...she is concentrating on massaging the paper!
