November 2018

Seventeen members and guests attended the November TAGY meeting, in spite of unsettled weather.

Part of Marketplace exhibit
Ginger and her three guests took down the TAGY "Marketplace" exhibit from Bank of the West and laid it out for display.  It will be saved for the Big Sky Quilt Show & Retreat to be held in March.  The TAGY art quilt exhibits are placed on the stage at this Montana quilt show each year.

The Challenge for 2019 was chosen to be "Doors or Gateways".
The Challenge will be due at the August TAGY meeting and will be hung at the Yellowstone Quilt Fest in September.  Size is to be up to a 100 inch perimeter, any shape you choose.  Some of us like to keep a Wyoming theme, but this is not required.

Many beautiful items were displayed at Show & Tell (see pics).
Marie from Red Lodge created these beautiful fabrics and quilts with thickened dyes.

Ginger made items for the Human Society fund-raiser (left), and Jeannette is experimenting with bird ornaments (center). Also shown were these beautiful  Halloween bags made by Carol Shephard.

Colleen gave the program on the history of Hawaiian quilting, which was very interesting and informative.  She showed us examples of traditional quilting methods, and some with a modern twist which use more than two colors.

New Update:
Marie Shirley Jones just learned that her art is on a traffic light box in Billings. Congrats Marie!
