The May 2nd, 2022, TAGY meeting was held in the Grizzly Room at the Cody Library. 17 talented members were present: Karling, Jeanette, Barb M., Cara, Jeanne, Jan W., Pam, Alice, Jan H., Danielle, Barbara H., Linda, Chris, Lili, Ellen, Sue, Vanda. Introductions were made.
Show and tell consisted of what some of us had worked on during the previous month, as well as our experiment with Lili's challenge of making acrylic skins.
Alice reminded us of what a great job we did on the book we published, The Fabric of Memory.
Ellen suggested that if anyone is interested in leatherworking, Mark Barcus will be offering a class. See him on FaceBook: Mark Barcus | Facebook
Jan W and Jeanne announced a yard sale at Doris Kenney's on Skyline Drive on May 13th & 14th.
Barb M. presented a reminder of the challenge due at the June meeting: Thinking Outside Your Color Box. Work with a color that you find challenging. Then come and tell about it in June.
Barb M. presented the monthly program. We each used background fabric of different tones and colors, and then made small art quilts using scraps that we had each brought or borrowed. It was an exercise in color, shape and spontaneity. FUN! Barb presented a couple of color wheels, as well as a deck of cards called Start Your Art, designed to get you going on creating.
NEXT Meeting: June 6, 2022. Due: Barb M's challenge Thinking Outside of Your Color Box.
