June 5, 2023

Twenty lovely and talented women attended the TAGY meeting at the Cody Library on Monday, June 5, 2023:  Sue S., Barbara H., Marie, Jan, Laura, Ginger, Jan H., Ben, Mary, Carol, Jan W., Jeanne, Lili, Ginny S, Ellen, Gretchen B., Alice, Barbara M., Linda and Chris.

Announcements:

    Annual Challenge:  Is due at the July 10th meeting.  Bring your artist statement with you.  Jan W., will type up the statements.  Quilts will be hung in September in the library.

    Jeannette:  A card was passed around for Jeanette, who is awaiting complex surgery.

  Quilting Arts Magazine:  Marie Shirley-Jones will be featured in the summer edition!  Congrats, Marie!

    July Program:  Will be a Tea Party!  Lili is in charge (this will be Lili's 3rd program for the year!)  Plus, we will turn in our challenge quilts.  Thank you, Lili!

    August Program:  Ellen will provide a program.  Thank you!

Show and Tell:

Chris shows the Bomber Jackets she has been sewing.  So cute!



Ben's Pair/Pear/Pare Challenge:  A pair of wall hangings.  Note the puffy parts and beads.

Marie is at it again with her beloved silk neckties!





And Marie's PEAR challenge quilt.  She had encouraged irregular shaped quilts for this challenge.  And there you go!

And Ginger took a two-day weaving class.  Lots of work!

   The Program:  Lili, Carol and Ginny gave a program on their quilt trip to Japan!  Many photos!  After the program, they taught us Shibori dying with indigo.
